01/10/2011 was the hottest 01/10 on record. We spent the day down by the river in Caerleon. Today, after many a technical hitch, the films were developed and scanned — one black and white, one colour.

I’ve only just uncovered the photos I took at last year’s May Ball. I spent the entire summer thinking I’d lost them and accepting the fact I’d probably never see them.
Thankfully I found them and I went to develop them at uni. However, not only were the films expired — which is why the colours are off — but during processing the machine decided to chew them up and damaged the negatives beyond repair. Some worse than others.

Once a month at everyone’s favourite public house, Le Pub, there are student presentations from all photography courses and all years. This year’s first presentation is 11th October — for those on Facebook here is the event page — and I’m one of presenters for photo art. We have two presenters from each course. It’s a great opportunity to socialise with other courses, see what everyone else is working on, and there’s the occasional special guest.
The photos above are from one of the nights last year when Mike presented and former head of Photography for Fashion & Advertising, Jason Evans, DJed during the intervals.
